Show Me The Money, Honey!

After nearly wrecking my van today, I learned how perfect God's timing is in providing for my needs.  A loud cracking noise caused me to slam on my brakes and close my eyes while my brother ducked and the kids asked what I did wrong this time! The windshield cracked all the way across in two different areas reminding me of the lines seen during labor contractions on the spools of paper.
"Great! This is lovely, now I have a ghetto cracked up mini van!" My brother laughed only because he knows how much I hate driving a mini van; but driving a cracked up mini van is a whole other story. I just recently came to terms about not repairing a big dent on the passenger side from a hit and run. Instead my husband and I decided to use the money to remodel our bathroom. With a sigh, I dropped my brother off and headed home with the kids to nap.
"Alright Lord, I'm trusting You for the needs we have and will try not worry about....okay, okay I won't worry about the appearance my cracked up windshield gives either," I prayed as I felt God prompting me to. Within minutes of arriving home, God took care of business. Chris texted me, "Show me the money honey!" I called him about the rhyming text in which I learned that Chris was reimbursed for spending expenses for a business trip and he received a refunded grant for school!
God does provide for all our needs, though it may not look how we imagined. When I dreamed of getting married and being a mom, I dreamed of a big new house, new cars, designer clothes, with a barbie doll figure, while Chris worked the perfect 8 to 5 job making at least 80 G's a year. God however had a different plan. I don't have a new big house, my cars are 10 years old, and I buy my clothes at consignment shops or on sale and I really wish I had that barbie doll figure. Chris does work 8 to 5 but is no where near making 80 G's a year, but God is providing for us. It's about being faithful to God. His plan requires us saying from our hearts, "God I know You're up there, I know You see me. Your word says that if we are faithful in believing in who You are, You will provide, so God I'm going to trust that You will meet all my needs."
In today's lovely and thriving economy, I'm sure there are plenty of moms out there stuck in my shoes. My words of advice are to not lose trust in God. His plan may look different from yours but He will provide. So with that I leave you with a couple of verses to ponder, Mathew 6:25-34.
"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?

"Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?  Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?  And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.  If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
"So do not worry, saying, `What shall we eat?' or `What shall we drink?' or `What shall we wear?'  For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."
