Trusting God will Not Let Me Screw Up My Kids

I don't know if you're anything like me, some days I'd like to switch brains just so you can see what my mind is like. I worry constantly that I'm not parenting my kids the right way. Maybe I was too harsh or too creative with my discipline tactics or maybe I just plain suck. I'm seriously debating on starting a "therapy fund" for my kids...and maybe one for myself.
Last week was a battle to get my kids to trust and obey. They were squabbling over the air they had to share,  the color of Popsicles, to who got to sit in the green camouflage seat in the suburban. That's when God got my attention through our local radio station, "Commit to the LORD whatever you do and your plans will succeed." Despite wanting to test this scripture with scratch lotto tickets, I wanted to raise Godly children more.
This scripture verse revealed to me that I need to put my complete trust and faith in God; to seek His guidance and trust He will mold my babes into the people He created them to be. Am I really big enough to mess up His plans?  Worrying about them isn't going to change anything, instead; He is asking me to be confident that He knew what He was doing when He placed those kiddos in my womb. The same goes for each little mama on this planet. God is asking you to trust Him, commit your ways to Him in all you do, especially parenting. Commit your children to Him and your sure to succeed in what He asked you to do.

  2. Following you from Mom Bloggers. Thank you for your e-mail. I wanted to say thank you for this post. I have talked to my hubby about this same thing. I am always concerned about the "damage" I am doing to our children. Your post confirms feelings I have had for a while. God knows what he is doing even when I don't. Thank you for the encouragement.
