"I am going to savor the next 5 minutes. Because 5 minutes from now there will be another dirty dish to wash and my daughter will probably change her clothes and there will be more laundry to do. but for the next five minutes it's all done!!"
This was the facebook status of a friend of mine. How often as mothers do we take the chance to sit and relish the moment? We get precious little moments to enjoy the warmth of the sun shinning down on our faces, or to watch our little one's toothy grin. How often do we write in time for ourselves on our to-do lists? Our culture is saturated with climbing the corporate ladder or some other accomplishment we cross off our list. Not to mention the domestic dailies of motherhood, laundry, dishes, changing diapers, potty training, supper, lunch, and the list goes on.
Take the next five minutes and praise God for the life He's blessed you with. Enjoy the moment no matter the situation. Take it all in and breathe deep and meditate on Psalm 46:10 "Be still and know that I am God."
